The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called on children to refrain from acquiring harmful knowledge through the internet as this could be detrimental to their development.

As Nigeria joins the Global Community to commemorate the 2023 World Day Against Child Labour, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called on the government and other stakeholders including parents, guardians and operators of businesses especially in the agricultural, construction and mining industries to desist from all forms of child labour in line with the extant labour laws.

In line with the mandate of the National Human Rights Commission as enshrined in its enabling Act (The National Human Rights Commission Act 1995 as amended), the Governing Council of NHRC recently concluded its statutory meeting which held from 15th to 16th May 2023 at the Council Chambers of the Commission.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and other stakeholders have commended the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for its initiative to monitor and document incidences of human rights violations during and after the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
